I left my home one year ago. I first went to Singapore
and then I came to Canada. This has given me time for personal reflection. When
I was in Korea, I didn’t have to think about myself because Korean schools
usually don’t ask us to do personal reflection exercises. However, I have
learned that personal reflection is challenging for me because Canadian schools
ask us about feelings. I have seen that Canadians have healthy
lifestyles. They eat raw vegetables frequently and Canadians play sports often.
However, Korean kids like instant food and they have less free time to play
sports because they have to study a lot.
Before I came to Canada, I thought Victoria
would be like New York City. When I arrived here I disappointed little bit
about down town. There are no tall buildings. Victoria doesn’t even look like
city.
I like Victoria’s weather because it is not
very cold or hot, but I don’t like the rain fall often. I like the school, but I
frustrated by all of the scheduled physical activity at school because I don’t
like sports and I’m not good at it.
My father is a doctor and was born on 24 August 1964. He has two brothers and two sisters. His father was a principal and his brothers and sisters are also teachers. When my father was a university student he wanted to major in biochemistry, but his father and his brothers wanted him to be a doctor, so he majored in biology. After university he wanted to be a internist, but he was terribly wounded in his leg. He had to have surgery and he lost his chance to be a physician, so he became a Paediatrician.
I respect my father because he works hard at his job for his family even though that is not what he wanted to be.
I admire his qualities of being hard-working and taking care of his responsibility and his family.
Rick Riordan was raised in Texas. He
graduated from the University of Texas Austin in 1986 and specialized in
English and social studies. He published his first book in the Percy Jackson
series in 2005 and has continued to write about mythology and mysteries.
I like Rick Riordan because I read his Percy Jackson
series and I loved it.
Three qualities that I admire most about him are that he is successful,
hard-working, and imaginative.
Arthur Conan Doyle was born on 22 May 1859 in Scotland and died on 7 July 1930 in England. His father was an alcoholic and the family separated for a while due to the alcoholism. Even though he had lots of problems, he went to medical school and became a doctor and research scientist. Also, he wrote Sherlock Holmes and had a successful writing career. In addition to all of this, he wrote about international war and defended his country's political position.
Arthur Conan Doyle was resilient, talented, and patriotic. I like him because he had strong opinions.
A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of watching “The
Avengers” in a theatre full of heroes
and dreamers. Below is my review of the movie.
A mysterious tone is set when the International peacekeeping
organization, the S.H.I.E.L.D, responds to a terrorist threat. Loki is
responsible for this threat when he takes over an energy cube in the possession
of S.H.I.E.L.D. He also invades the minds of a few S.H.I.E.L.D agents for the
purpose of learning how to use the cube. The director of S.H.I.E.L.D, Nick Fury,
unites a team of super heroes to catch Loki and regain the cube. The elite team
of heroes includes Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Steve
Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America (Chris Evans), Bruce Banner, a.k.a. The Hulk
(Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Natasha Romanoff, a.k.a. Black Widow
(Scarlett Johansson), and Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner).
I laughed throughout the movie, mainly because of
Robert Downey Jr.’s funny performance. Even though I am a movie critic, I
cannot say any bad things about the great cast.
I liked the humorous actions of the super heroes. The
perfect example occurs when Thor kidnaps Loki and he is trying to talk with
him; however, Iron Man rudely interrupts them without understanding Thor’s good
intentions.
My friends found the action to be boring, but I don’t
see how that is possible.
Loki always does bad things and he always has
bad things happen to him, so I think the moral of the movie is to stay out of trouble.
This movie is for everybody and the MPAA rating of the
movie is PG-13. I recommend this movie to anyone who likes heroes and action
but I wouldn’t recommend this to people who like romance. This movie is really
awesome!!!
I think this movie is really great, so I give it a
score of 9.5 out of 10.
Minkyu Lee is a 15 year old Korean and he is a secondary
school student. He doesn’t like to play sports but he likes to play electronic
games and watch American dramas.
Three years ago I loved Korean dramas
and hated all foreign dramas. Why? I don’t really know. Maybe I just loved my
country too much and was unable to say anything bad about Korean productions.
One day my older brother suggested that I watch the British drama “Doctor Who."
I was bored, so I found a season four episode
and watched it on my computer. I had never before seen a Science Fiction drama
and discovered that I was interested in that type of drama. Doctor Who opened
my mind up to other new foreign English language dramas. Ultimately, they make
me feel many different emotions: excitement, stress, and wonder. They make me
laugh and I always think about new things. Now, I’m crazy about specialty
foreign dramas!
If you want to play games first you must buy a computer or game console. If you want to play game with high quality of graphics and no lag, then you should have a game console, but if you want to play more comfortable and easier controls, then computer is better. If you have game console you must pay for your games, but if you have a computer you can buy a game CD or you can download games illegally. If you're ready to play game first, turn on the computer or game console. Second, insert the CD or operate game and install the game.Lastly, you need to make and ID for play gmae.
I went to Vancouver on Thursday by ferry with my classmates and teachers. we arrived at our hotel at 12 o'clock and then we had a lot of free time. I moved with five other Japanese students and wehad Japanese Ramen for lunch. We separated after lunch because I like to move alone, but we met each others soon, so I walked around with them. All students came back to the hotel and I got my room key; normally 3 students were in one room but I had only one room mate. After that we had free time again, so I went to Sura(Korean restaurant) for have a dinner and came back to my room. I got some rest and I went to the lobby. Every body met at the lobby and went to movie theatre to watch The Avengers. I really liked it. Next we went to Aquarium and we had shopping time again. We came back to Victoria at 4:30. I didn't enjoy the shopping time, but Aquarium was fine and I enjoyed movie.
On the 7th of May, I visited mystic vale for the first time. My impressions of the forest were positive. As soon as I began walking in the trail, I noticed a change in temperature. It was cool because of the big, tall maple trees that shaded the ground. Small birds chirped softly from their perches in the trees and bugs buzzed all around of me. I don't go into the forest often, so the smells were alien to me. I smelled fresh air, which I liked very much, and damp earth, which I didn't like at all. I will go back when the weather changes and there are not so many bugs!
A young owl on an old tree, waiting for courage to lift him up high.
Many maple trees stand up together, just like totems in the woods.
I'm happy when I play games. I love to play fantasy and SF (science fiction) games, because I like special powers, special characters, and amazing graphics. Also, I like story lines; they make me laugh and give me many new ideas. As a gamer, the happiest day of my life was when my host parents bought a PlayStation3 for their son. He is a great guy and lets me play PS3, too! PS3 allows me to play games that I can't play on my computer because of access and delay times. recently, I used the PS3 to play an amazing new game that calls 'PROTOTYPE 2' and that makes me happy.
Korean dramas irritate me, but I loveAmerican dramas! Korean dramas use very common stories and the plots are easy to predict. In my opinion, the plots of American dramas are more difficult to predict. Korean dramas are always focused on romance; American dramas explore romance, but they include many other things, too. Male characters are rarely monogamous in Korean dramas and they have very messy relationships. In contrast, the characters in American dramas have clear relationships; when they cheat, the drama is quickly resolved. Korean dramas don't have any dream, but they have violence and dirty stories. I prefer the fantasies of American dramas.
Money is the most important thing to me. Money can buy almost every thing. I can buy food, games, clothes, or I can protect my body to hire security to use money. I desire many thing and if I want to get something , then I try to get that thing. So, I need lots of money to buy what I want and fill my desire. I can't buy friends or girlfriend but, those are not necessary in my life and if I want them I could get some where.
When I was 11years old, I went camping with my class mates from my school. we went to a mountain and we found a place that was flat. We slept after had dinner and played. I was very tired. I opened my eyes the next morning and I saw many insects were in my tent. I was terrified with those creepy insects. So, I got out of my tent and I saw an ant falldown from my mouth. The ant was inside of my mouth untill I got out of my tent. I hate and afraid of insects, since that time.
My Zodiac Sign is Cancer. Cancers are changeable, imaginative, loving, cautious, and touchy, but somethings are right or wrong to me.
I am changeable. I always want something new. I 'm easy to get bored about old things or something once I have done even if I really liked it. for example if I play games or watch movies and if I have played and watched I never play or watch again
I am imaginative. When I have nothing to do I lie down on my bed and close my eyes and I start to imagine something like movies, characters or superpower.
I am touchy. I am easy to explode. if someone keeps bothering me I'll be really mad with that person. I inherited it from my father.
I am not loving. I love my family, but I don't think I love other people. when I was a kid I had a girl who I liked, but now I don't think I loved her, just I liked her as a friend.
I am not cautious. I'm acting frivolously. I'm usually break or make messy something, but I'm shrewd about my money. My father used to think I had ADHD.
My name is William Henry Gates. Everybody calls me Bill Gates. I was born in Seattle, Washington in 1955 and my father was a lawyer. I have retired my job, but I'm doing charitable work with my wife. I think I should be the one to live on the balloon because I'm doing charitable work and I have family.
I established "Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation" with my wife and I retired from "Microsoft" for focus on my charitable work. I'm donating my money for help to cure people, like Malaria or like AIDS.
I donated 25billion dollars and I'm still donating my money. I'm asking to billionaires "Why don't you donate your half of your losses to help other people?" So, I need to live to help encourage other billionaires.
I have my dear family. I have a son and two daughters and my wife. my children are not adults yet. I must be with my family.
In conclusion I'm operating my company and donating my money yearly for people who need help and other billionaires will donate their money if I stay alive and keep trying to tempt them. I'm too important person to die
Peter Segal made this movie and the original is dram. this is for teenager. The important character are max, agent 99 and agent 23. The story is about the CONTROL's agents are trying to stop KAOS's conspiracy to save the world. The important events were the agents escaped from an airplane and shtarker, agents destroyed the factory, agent23 kidnapped agent 99, agents stopped the bomb. I like when the agent is a stupid man. I can learn 'the solution to problem is not only power' from that movie. I like this movie because it's funny.
The Trans Formers is my favourite movie. that made in 2011, and Michael bay is director. It's about Action, adventure and SF movie.
The actors are Shia Labeouf, Roise Huntington whiteley.
story is The Autobots and Decepticons are fighting each other on the earth. Autobots are protecting the earth from Decepticons and Decepticons are trying to destroy all of Autobots and invade the earth.I like this movie because I like robots and SF story.
If I could go anywhere, I would want to go to the Grand Canyon, because I already have been to the U.S.A. but that was a group tour, so I couldn't go where I wanted to go.
I want to watch that majestic and the old ground. I want to stand there and feel how big it is. I want to know what things are living there. I heard there has many things like Sky walk and Watch tower. Sky walk is go up and walking on the glasses,
and Watch tower is made like Indian building, so inside wall has many Indians pictures.
When I was nine years old, I watched a TV program that surprised and scared me. I was home alone. The TV show, was my favourite; I watched every Sunday. This TV program featured miraculous events and special beliefs. The specific episode that surprised me discussed the end of the earth. Ancient Mayans predicted the world would end on December 21st 2012. According to them, the world end when the sixth sun was gone.(they believed there are six suns and when the fourth sun gone, mayans are disapeared.) I felt terrified, stressed, and distracted this information before I forgot about that story. I don't want to know too many surprises information like that.
I have very few memories of early childhood, but I guess my parents and teachers taught me. I like to read books of average length. They're often stories with many characters. these characters have special abilities or powers. I enjoy reading about war and battle and learning about successful historical figures. I also enjoy thinking about the different ways that people live. It is difficult to keep the story line straight and some times if the books become boring then I stop reading them. My goal is to find the most interesting book that I will ever read.
I thought the library was too quiet, and I did not really enjoy a silent room. this library had plenty of good selections of books, so I found my favourite book easily. Korean libraries and Canadian libraries have similar way to find books and the order of books, however, Korean libraries do not have gaming CD's and automatic checkout systems. of course, Korean libraries have mostly Korean books, and Canadian libraries have mostly English books. I chose the book which was called 'Trinity' because I had never read American comics before. Also, I preferred graphic novels about heroes like 'Batman' or 'superman'. I have not read the book 'Trinity' yet, but I can guess that humans will fight with aliens. The authors are Kurt Busiek, Fabian Nicieza and Mark bagley.
My favourite food is fried chicken. I think many people like fried chicken.
When I'm cooking it, it becomes yellow. I don't know why, but I like crackling oil. I need to be careful around the splashing oil.
Cooking and eating fried chicken uses all of the senses. It looks very greasy and bumpy. The smell is strong and long-lasting. The surface texture is rough, but the inside texture is moist. Before I eat fried chicken, I leave it on my plate for a minute. I don't want to burn my mouth! The sounds are crunching and lip-smacking. The fried chicken tastes crunchy, juicy, salty and spicy.
I like salty and spicy foods, but fried chicken is not good for my health, so I only eat it once in a while.
I chose this because that is really right sound. This means to do something is much better than just saying it. Also I agree about that if someone say yes, I'll do it and do nothing than I can tell that person welldone is better than wellsaid.
When I met my cousin, I asked "When do you start your homework?" he said he'll do it tomorrow so I went to his room three days later and I checked his homework, but he didn't do anything. So I said "hey, welldone is better than wellsaid, don't just say it, do it".
when I was in korea I couldn't go to school very many times because I was sick. so I couldn't study.
I felt very terrible when I was sick and one day my parents said 'why don't you go to abroad to study in canada if you go, you can change your self. so I came here and I think i'm getting better than when I was in korea. and I couldn't sleep enough, but here I can sleep enough time.
My home city is Seoul, Korea Seoul is the capital city of Korea in the morning there are many cars, also there are many students so it is quite noisy in the morning
if you go to big streets, you can see many restaurants and many stores. you can smell a lot of things beef, rice, Korean soup, pizza and chicken. my favourite Korean food is bibimbab. there are many herbs and beef. sauce is red pepper sauce that is spicy but not much
Seoul has a long history, so if you drive a car sometimes you can see old buildings ore palaces, those are made of wood and bricks
Korea has four seasons. spring, summer, fall and winter. in summer, it is very hot and winter is very cold. in winter the temperature always goes down to negative degrees, but Korea has many kind of food or fruits. because of four seasons I think Seoul is not bad for living
yester day there was lots of snow, that was beautyful every thing was white like north pole, but also very cold almost could freeze every ting, when i stepd snow, the snow crunched under my feet. snow was very soft and if i touch it then it melted. there's smell like cold water or ice smell aslo taste was like ice, and two days ago at one o'clock went to hill, because there's lots of snow and we wanted to go sleding. we played snowball fight and i sled over the hill and when i going down, that was very fast and someone fell down while slied, that was quite funny when i went back to my home there was lots of snow, so snow accumulated too much above my head, and after my head was wet, i was quite annoyed
